Five Rings Coffee began with three friends, three Olympic cycling careers and one shared passion for exceptional coffee. Phil, Callum and Owain experienced coffee cultures around the world during their lives in professional cycling. Coffee became part of the routine: before training, after long rides, between races and during time spent with teammates and friends. They created Five Rings Coffee in 2019 to bring that passion, experience and attention to detail together. Although life has since taken the original founders in different directions, the friendship and love of great coffee have remained.

Today, Phil and his wife Clare are bringing Five Rings Coffee into its next chapter. Based near the Lake District and now shaped by family life, mountain biking, gravel riding and a shared love of the outdoors, the brand is growing beyond its original cycling roots. The ambition is simple: to create exceptional speciality coffee and thoughtfully designed products for people who appreciate quality, movement and making more of everyday life. The Olympic story will always be part of who we are. But you don’t need to be an Olympian, an athlete or even a cyclist to belong here.
